Blog procrastination: preparing for fall semester
Honestly, I have no legitimate reason for not posting recently, other than I’ve been reading relentlessly and learning how to crochet (don’t ask). I know, I know; you’ve all been waiting on pins and needles to hear how Bath was. (Right now I’m trying really hard to think of some sort of clever pun relating to “bath”… crap ) Suffice it to say that Bath is one of my favorite stops while in Europe. I think I prefer it because it’s the perfect mix between city and small town, but also has that nice dash of history that satisfies my nerdier self.

Blob Time
That’s right I will be in the same place from precisely two more days, for a total of 4 DAYS! To celebrate I am doing two things: sleeping and eating Nutella. Keep checking back for more escapades and awkward encounters in London. THE SUMMER IS NOT YET OVER!

The Horror…The Horror!
Do you ever have those times when you can do nothing but awkwardly stare at someone? Usually with this face like this:
Well, I had one of those moments. It was July 21, 2011 at 22:25, outside of the Baptistery in Florence, Italy. Rachael and I had just stumbled out from the literally dazzling Baptistery into the night air. Our enfeebled art-smacked brains were given a final blow by the bellowing of a nearby fellow countryman, who was complaining about visiting a famous Renaissance masterpiece in Florence. Although someone probably should’ve given this portly man a large slap and shipped him back to his couch in the US, I could do nothing but the imitation on the left. -
The Sinking City
Ah, Venice. The muffled sound of motor boats, a faint but pleasant smell of age, rich pastel paint peeling off crumbling brick. Venice is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever visited. The great works of mankind exhibited by the art and architecture, from the intricate churches to the simple but elegant window shutters, are only enhanced by the sparkling waters that are the veins of the city. Getting lost in Venice is like wandering through a postcard… with a thousand of your closest friends. In fact, the striking contrast between the city of Venice and its mob of yearly visitors is kind of unsettling.

Milan: city of quirks
Since it’s been a while since I did a photo-based blog post, I thought I’d do one for Milan! Also, it means I have to think less about what I’m writing..

It’s Kinder time…
One eccentric 80 year old, two snails, three crepes , four different trains, five location attempts and six hours of sleep total… It has been a long past two days—and I want my Kinder chocolate bar, now.
